Relationship between project success and the success factors in public–private partnership projects: A structural equation model

The budgetary pressures, scarcity of resources, and incessant increases in the demand for public services have driven Malaysian government to involve private sector development infrastructure through public–private partnership (PPP) projects. Despite benefits PPP projects different regions, including Malaysia, various endeavours are considered unsuccessful many reasons. However, evaluation success these is not robust because definition project’s based on its distinct nature inadequate. Moreover, reviewed literature has identified critical factors (CSFs) projects, but question remains whether real factors. Thus, this study aimed develop a project variable, categorise CSFs, examine relationship between CSF categories project.To achieve objectives, adopted mixed research method—specifically, an exploratory sequential design. First, implementing method, interviews were conducted measurement items success. Second, survey collect data factor analysis (EFA) newly developed principal component (PCA) CSFs.
